Dear Colleagues,
Have you had enough snow yet? It's pretty but it sure messes up the office schedules and here at U of L, our clinic schedule is full of openings.
Your LDDHA Board met earlier this month to plan the Spring calendar. We tabulated the responses received from those who completed surveys regarding what kind of topics you are interested in for continuing education. Becky Milliner worked hard to find speakers with topics that matched the top vote getting subjects. We have a great line up for our Spring courses. A postcard is being sent out announcing the dates, times, speakers and topics for Spring CE courses. You will find that information and more here on our web page as well.
Additionally, you can find us on Facebook where we try to keep you posted about new and temporary hygiene positions and other items of interest to those in the oral health care profession. "LIKE" us on Facebook so you hear about things as they are posted.
At our April meeting we are trying something a little different. Our speaker will be talking about health and wellness for the dental hygienist. We are offering the course to non-members at the member's rate of $10. It is our hope that these non-member hygienists will see the value of membership when they participate in a meeting. As a member you are getting a meal, network opportunities, a social time to reconnect with friends and a timely CE course six times a year. In addition, you get discounted CE oportunities at KYDHA Annual session, a peer reviewed magazine and a connection to your professional national organization.
Speaking of KYDHA Annual session, don't forget to register for this at kydha.org. You can click on the logo on this page to go right to the website to register. Registration is now open!
Let's talk up our professional organization and support the hard work of your local, state and national officers by building our membership in ADHA. If you are interested in greater involvement with your professional organization please consider running for office at the local or state level. There are openings for officers in both groups and we welcome new faces and ideas. If you don't want to nominate yourself tell a friend to do it for you!
I'll see you at a CE course this Spring,
Susan C. Collier R.D.H., M.S.Ed. Interim President |
